Olokun Ceremonial Pot — Handcrafted in 2005

Olokun Ceremonial Pot — Handcrafted in 2005
This striking sopera honors Olokun, the Orisha of the deep ocean. Handcrafted in 2005, this vessel is glazed in a lustrous midnight cobalt, evoking the tranquil yet deepest regions of the sea. Crowning the piece is a sculpted lid adorned by a beautifully detailed fish handle which recalls a sea spirit emerging from the abyss, reminding us of what flows within its depths.
The pot’s rounded, full-bodied form embodies abundance and protection. The glossy and matte blue tones mirror both Olokun’s and the ocean’s dual natures of calm serenity and turbulent force.
Traditionally used to house sacred items, this sopera serves as a vessel that merges spiritual offerings with ceramic craftsmanship. Though traditionally used as a ritual vessel for Olokun, it may be utilized as a decorative altar piece.
